Discover the variety of birds that call the 410 acres of Pickering Creek home

Birding at Pickering Creek is always a unique experience. With a variety of habitats including mature forest, tidal and nontidal wetlands, and meadow , an incredible diversity of birds are able to call this place home for at least a portion of the year. In fact, over 200 species have been spotted at Pickering Creek, of which are waterfowl!

A day at Pickering Creek can introduce you to everything from Anna's hummingbirds (our year-round residents) to barred owls, pileated woodpeckers, and bald eagles. Come into the office and we'll tell you the best viewing areas for these species.

Below you'll find a checklist of the birds of Pickering Creek. Hard copies, as well as bird field guides and binoculars, can be borrowed at the office.
