Spend a day focused on the stars. While the sun is still up, we’ll learn the stories behind our constellations. At dusk, we’ll canoe the creek while many of our land and aquatic animals are just starting to wake up and search for food. At night, we’ll lie out on the dock, watch the bats swoop overhead and hear the fish jump, as we identify our night sky.

Girls in Nature (SOLD OUT) / Boys in Nature (SOLD OUT)
July 10 – 14; 9 am – 4 pm
Girls and boys will be in separate Counselor-led groups all week. Though the activities of hiking, exploring, canoeing, and playing games will be the same, the groups will make them their own by deciding the pace and focus. Groups will also have a long list of activities to choose from to fill our time outside as we all become more comfortable in and knowledgeable about nature.

Fort Builders- SOLD OUT
July 17 – 21; 9 am – 4 pm
Back by popular demand! Campers will be challenged all week to create shelters for small animals and birds that can withstand weather like heavy wind and rain. Weatherproofing tricks learned during small shelter building will be used to create a camper-sized fort during the last half of the week. When we are done we’ll break it down in keeping with our leave no trace ethic.

July 24 – 28; 9 am – 4 pm
Fill your home, our classrooms, and the outdoors with art made from materials we find in Pickering’s different habitats. You don’t need to be an artist to come to EcoArt – we’ll use nature to inspire us to recreate what we see or create something completely new.
